He was cautioned by the owner that each door was to be carefully locked because every room contained some valuable rug, picture or piece of furniture. Every window had a burglar alarm. He was warned that a certain button had to be pressed before raising a window. One night he went to sleep and awoke almost suffocating; he jumped to his feet and without thinking raised a window. Alarms went off everywhere.

The next day he was fired. Kagawa said, "The castle life was not for me. I was much happier than the man there when I lived in social work in the slums of Kobe in one small room six feet square, with no possessions but one suit of clothes and one blanket." He believed that it was not what we possess but what us that is the vital factor of possesses life. A man's life consisteth not in the abundance of things which he possesses. (Luke 12:15) NTM Inc.
