Lottery warning to check Powerball numbers as $1m prize is unclaimed (2024)

ONE state is urging lottery players to check their tickets as they might be major winners.

Someone in Connecticut might not know that they're sitting on a $1,000,000 Powerball prize - and they have a few months to claim it.

The winning ticket, which matched five numbers but missed the Powerball, was purchased at a Stop & Shop #635 at 100 Division Street, Ansonia — approximately 15 miles southwest of New Haven.

The fortunate draw occurred on June 3, 2024.

Powerball Unclaimed has shared that the winner has 177 days from the draw date to come forward and claim their prize.

This means the would-be winner has until November 30, 2024, to cash in on their win.

Officials emphasize the significance of safeguarding the ticket and immediately signing the back to establish ownership.
