I'm asking any of the LW users out there who also use Blender if you are using the Sensei Format addon, and if you think it is worth the time to learn the workflow. I just installed it and immediately like the cleaner interface, but also realize that this is a commitment that involves some re-education. Any users who swear by it or hate it? I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

I am unaware of the existence of such format. Is it a custom Blender interface ala Sensei?

I've just started using Blender after ages of procrastination and ive never heard of this. The UI in Blender is a cluttered mess and unless you have a big screen its very hard, i like the tabs addons but why cant they be at the top not on the side. Admittedly ive not used it so much because of this but i have got some great results for dynamics, fluids, fire, clouds and such from it using tutorials.

Okay, Blender Sensei is a third party add on, free to download and use, designed to speed up and simplify the workflow a bit.

Yes after i read your post i went and downloaded it thanks. It seems to simplify the UI however i use quite a few third party plugins like HardOps and such and its going to take some learning and time to sort these out into menus and such. I know the guys at Blender are working on the UI and there are many things i like in it, like the ability to change font size, shadows and such, i would however like more control over it. There is allot of clutter and repetition in the layout.
Its just going to take time to get into it but its time well spend as the amount of detail, third party assets, updates, as well as what can be achieved with it is outstanding. Im warming to Blender quite allot and i find myself going back to it again and again especially for fluids, dynamics, smoke, fire, mist and such. I seem to recall someone did a UI layout that reflected more the layout of LightWave but cant for the life of me find it now and its pretty old now as well.
I look forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Blender's fine, just a bit gloopy in the UI, I'm working on a modeling job where I have to use Blender so I'm forced back into it. Let me know if you find the Sensei Format a help or a hindrance, seems to put the tools and panels into better places, but I still need to get re-acquainted with the tools all over again.

It seems to simplify the UI fine but now i have to go back in and find all my tools and where they have gone. So as you say you need to get re acquainted with the UI.

Blender sensei
I tried it. In fact I have 3 blender's (standard, old version for specific addons like a japanease fbx import, and Sensei).
I don't use so much because mess with some hotkeys addons i use (that kill me). You can turn off the hotkeys (is an option) but really, this addon is for hardcore users 
like Sensei. This addon change more than UI.
I recommend you just customize the interface and save it configuration (control+u).

Sensei format is really good and it organizes things quite a bit. However, I learned Blender a long time ago and it's quite a shock to the system to switch cold turkey to this setup. I would highly recommend it to new users so that you aren't jaded by the original way Blender does things, but understand that if you need to go through tutorials, you might have a difficult time. That being said, you can watch Blender Sensei's tutorials and do just fine since he has a lot of stuff on his channel to help new users, and veterans for that matter.

Thanks, I reverted back to normal Blender for the time being and will pursue Format when there's less pressure.
