    What is CX?That is when you walk into your usual Toastbox outlet, before you reached the counter to give your order, the staff already started to prep your order.You just pay and collect.CX is something that has happened for the longest of time and many did not know it. When my grandfather was operating his barbershop (which was demolished back in 80s), there was always a few things he did.When a regular customer comes in, the customer is ushered to a chair with a warm towel. My Grandfather will issue instructions to the helpers say Mr Who and Who is here. The helpers will bring out the customer's preferred hot beverage along with the right brand of cigarettes and a newspaper or magazine for the customer to read while he waits.All these was done without the Customer asking.When it was the customer's turn, make sure the customer is comfortable before proceeding with the haircut.After cutting and shaving, clean up the customer nicely from fallen hair and with another warm towel to allow the customer to freshen up.More often then not the customer will hang around the shop and network with other customers and my Grandfather.The helpers will continue to ply on the hot beverages and cigarettes while they continue to network.When the customer leaves he will pay and normally leave a tip and the helpers along with my Grandfather will send the customer to the door.And it is pretty sure the same customer will return the following week.I never understood the fuss back then....but after more than 20 years in the CX industry....I finally understood why my Grandfather went thru all that for his customers.Truth is you do not need high end technologies with AI to provide that, you just need to understand how human works...Maybe some of the things that people complained that I am an OCD or leh cheh, are bits and pieces of what constitutes to CX.
