250 qualifying is underway for the final round of the 2024 Supercross season in Salt Lake City, Utah. Two champions will be crowned this evening but a lot of racing is ahead before that becomes a reality. In the East Coast, Tom Vialle sits 15 points ahead of Haiden Deegan who spoke about not riding clean in this evening’s events as championships are all or nothing. In the West, Levi Kitchen and RJ Hampshire are tied with each other, and both of those riders also know it’s all or nothing but are respectful to each other which should make for some great racing. It all will be decided tonight, but it starts in qualifying. For full updates read down below.
2024 SALT LAKE CITY SUPERCROSS // FULL COVERAGE
250 WEST QUALIFYING SESSION 1
RJ Hampshire means business in Salt Lake.
Up front early was Jo Shimoda who seems to thrive on the dry track conditions. Today in Salt Lake the track has been dried out and can be a bit slippery on top. RJ Hampshire was able to move himself up to the pole position around the midway point of the session. Julien Beaumer was able to get in a great time just behind Hampshire as the qualifying continued. Levi Kitchen was sitting around the fifth position for the majority of the session but was within the same second as the leaders. Hampshire would back up his best time as he was able to put in multiple fast laps. He would lead them to the conclusion of the session.

250 EAST QUALIFYING SESSION 1
Haiden Deegan is looking motivated to grab a win in the final Supercross of the year.
Chance Hymas was able to grab the early lead in qualifying but Haiden Deegan was able to take over when he put in a hot lap just a few minutes into the session. Tom Vialle taking his time to learn the lines and the track as he was far down on the list for almost the first half of the qualifying. Haiden Deegan is looking smooth and fast, though he was about a second off the top five riders in the West practice. That would change as he got into the final laps of the qualifier he would break into the 53 second range, matching with the first practice, Haiden Deegan would be the only rider in the East to grab that quick of a time and lead the group into the conclusion of the session.

250 EAST OVERALL QUALIFYING RESULTS
Tom Vialle rode very conservatively and safely through qualifying, knowing that the racing is what matters most.
Off the practice start in the second session, Daxton Bennick grabbed the early lead and began putting in his hot laps. Haiden Deegan quickly moved to the front, charging around the track. However, by the end of the first lap, it was Coty Schock who had the fastest time. As the riders began to put in a few laps, Haiden Deegan climbed back to the top of the leaderboard, followed by Tom Vialle. Around the midway point, Chance Hymas managed to move into the lead, beating Deegan’s time by a few tenths of a second. As the track deteriorated, Vialle took no risks and moved ahead of Deegan in positioning. Towards the closing laps, Seth Hammaker would bump Hymas out of the top spot, and Hammaker would hold the lead through the conclusion of the session.

Levi Kitchen grabbed the holeshot and the early lead during the second session’s practice start. Jordon Smith followed Kitchen, learning some of the race lines he was taking. The leaderboard initially showed Kitchen on top, with Smith in second and Hampshire in third. Once again, Julien Beaumer managed to set a fast lap and moved to the top of the leaderboard.
